Unable to update Dell Server Generation 11/12 Bios Firmware

While I was trying to update a 12th Generation Dell Server with the Life Cycle Controller, it would download all the Firmware updates from Dell and then the Life Cycle Controller would freeze after this. I didn’t think much of it at first and manually updated the Firmware of other components by getting the files from the Dell Support Website. But when I tried updating the Bios Firmware, it would run the setup normally but when the server rebooted, the old firmware was still on there.

Enabling/Disabling Equallogic SAN FTP Service

Dell Equallogic SANs have an FTP Service enabled on by default. This is normally used to upload Firmware Updates or download Diagnostic data. But having the FTP Service running all the time can be a security risk. You can do the following to disable or temporary enable the FTP Service if you need to use it.

Running MS Hyper-V in VMWare Workstation 10

This is a nifty method in order to properly test MS Hyper-V in VMWare Workstation 10 if you don’t have any spare Hardware lying around.

When you try to install the Hyper-V Role in Windows Server 2012 R2 VMWare Workstation VM, you will see the following error below.
HyperVisor Detected.

Ford PowerShift Transmission Issues

I currently drive a 2012 Ford Fiesta 1.6 with Ford’s PowerShift 6 Speed Dry Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission. It is a great Hatchback to drive with all the Electronic and Safety features in it. I really enjoy driving it. If you are driving the 2010 ~ New Ford Fiesta or Ford Focus, there is a high probability that you got it with Ford’s PowerShift 6 Speed Dry Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission. But! It does come with a major issue on its own, which is the Transmission itself!
